What Remark promises, and what it refuses to promise.

What follows describes how Remark actually behaves, written against the running product. What is missing is the formal frame: registered company name, company registration number, registered address, governing law, competent courts.

Without a named operator and a governing law, there is no enforceable contract here — in either direction. This has not been reviewed by a qualified lawyer, and consumer-protection rules in your country may give you rights that override anything written below. Where they conflict, those rights win.

These terms are between you (“you”, the student, or the parent or guardian who agreed on your behalf) and Remark (“Remark”, “we”).

They apply every time you use the service. If you do not accept them, do not create an account. Reach us at support@remark.co.mz.

You upload a completed answer script and the official marking scheme for the same paper. Remark reads the scheme, marks your script against it question by question, and explains where marks were earned and lost. It then suggests topics to work on and links to material for them.

This matters more than anything else on this page:

• Remark is not an examiner and its marks are estimates. They are produced by an AI model reading your handwriting and interpreting a mark scheme. They are not moderated by a human examiner.
• Remark is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Cambridge Assessment International Education, the IB, or any other awarding body. Syllabus codes are used to identify which paper you uploaded, nothing more.
• A grade shown by Remark is not a grade. Where an approximate grade appears it is based on historic boundaries, not the boundaries of your session, which are set after the exam.
• Nothing here is a prediction of your result, and it must not be used for any official purpose — a school report, a predicted grade, an appeal, or a remark request.

Use it to revise. Check anything that matters against the scheme yourself — Remark shows you the criteria precisely so that you can.

Every question is marked twice, independently. Where the two readings disagree, the question is flagged for you to check instead of being presented as settled, and a confidence level is shown. Handwriting that could not be read confidently is called out.

We do not warrant that any mark is correct. The model can misread working, misapply a scheme convention, miss evidence that was there, or produce a confident and wrong judgment. This is inherent to the technology and is not a defect we can promise to remove.

If a mark looks wrong, you can flag it for review in the report. Tell us at support@remark.co.mz if something is badly wrong — it is how the marking gets better. The AI transparency notice sets out the known limits in detail.

• You must be at least 13. Below that, you may not use Remark at all.
• If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must read and accept these terms for you. By creating an account you confirm they have done so and that they accept responsibility for your use of the service.
• One account per person. Do not share your account or your password with anyone.
• You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your password to yourself.

By uploading a file you confirm that:

• The answer script is your own work, or you have permission from the person who wrote it (a teacher uploading a student’s script needs that student’s agreement).
• You obtained the marking scheme lawfully and are permitted to use it for your own study.
• The file contains nothing unlawful, and no one else’s personal data beyond your own.

Past papers and marking schemes remain the property of the awarding body that published them. Remark does not own them, does not licence them to you, and does not republish them. We use your copy to mark your paper and to show you the criteria behind your own marks, then delete it after 90 days. Worked solutions and explanations we generate are our own material, written against a scheme you supplied.

You keep ownership of everything you upload. You give us permission to store and process it only so far as is needed to run the service for you — and for nothing else. We do not use your work to train AI models or to create products for other people.

Do not:

• Use Remark during an examination, a controlled assessment, or any work you must complete unaided. Doing so is very likely malpractice under your awarding body’s rules, and the consequences fall on you.
• Upload work that is not yours and present the result as yours.
• Resell, redistribute or provide the service to other people as your own.
• Scrape, bulk-download or automate access outside the normal interface.
• Attempt to break, overload or probe the service, or to reach data belonging to another account.
• Upload malware, or files engineered to attack the system that processes them.

If you break these rules we may suspend or close your account. Where we can, we will tell you why first.

Remark is not currently taking payments. Access is free while the service is being proven on real papers. Any prices shown are what we intend to charge, not a charge you can incur today.

When payment is live, it will work like this:

• Starter Pass — 250 MZN per month, including up to 10 marked papers in a rolling 30-day period.
• Exam Season Pass — 600 MZN per month, including up to 30 marked papers in a rolling 30-day period.
• A pass is prepaid for a fixed period and does not renew automatically. Nothing is taken from you again unless you buy again.
• Allowances exist because marking a paper costs us real money per paper. Daily and concurrent limits also apply, so one account cannot consume a month’s capacity in an afternoon.
• If we cannot deliver what you paid for — the service is down, or marking fails and produces no result — we will refund you. Tell us at support@remark.co.mz.
• We will not refund a pass because you disagree with the marks. They are estimates, and this page says so before you buy.

Consumer law in your country may give you a right to cancel or a right to a refund beyond this. Those rights are not affected by anything written here.

Remark is a young service run by a small team. We do not promise any particular uptime. Features may be added, changed or withdrawn, and marking may be interrupted, queued or delayed.

If we make a change that materially reduces what a paid pass gives you, we will tell you and, if you have unused value, refund it. If we stop the service altogether, we will give you notice and time to export your data.

We may change these terms. The version is recorded, and a material change means asking you to accept the new one before you continue. This is version 2026-09-20.

We do not limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything the law does not allow us to limit.

Beyond that, and to the extent the law permits:

• We are not responsible for your exam results, for a decision you took because of a mark Remark estimated, or for a grade you did or did not achieve. Remark is revision feedback, and this page tells you plainly that its marks can be wrong.
• We are not responsible for material on third-party websites we link to for revision. We check that a link works and comes from a known source; we do not control what is on it.
• Where we are liable for something, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the problem arose. If you paid nothing, we have nonetheless still to meet the obligations in this agreement and in the privacy notice.

Nothing here limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country.

You can close your account at any time from Settings. That deletes your account, your uploads and your results. Export your data first if you want to keep it — there is a one-click export on the same page.

We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we stop operating the service. Except where you have seriously broken the rules or the law requires immediate action, we will give you notice and a chance to export your data first.

No governing law has been chosen yet. Until one is, neither side can be confident whose rules apply to a dispute, which is a gap that has to be closed before Remark takes money from anyone.
